Commercial Description:
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewer’s Gold varieties of hops.

Spontanious weekend 07. Shared with pat. Notes say: i had to shake the over carbonation out a bit. Kriek, oud brune base, very drinkable balanced sourness, a bit chalky which was unusual but something id like to try again. This finished me off also. RERATE: Bottle from paisley beer fest. Man o man, the mix of girardain lambic and oud brune are amazing, the cherrys character is almost unnoticeable which i dont mind. Soo drinkable soo much going on, its soo funky. Amazing beer one of the best iv ever had forsure. Possibly up with the sourest too.

2005 Vintage. 750ml bottle purchased at the Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido CA. $12 not sure if thats cheap or not, especially comparable to other countries, but for the price I thought why not give it a try. Bottle smoked and then fizzed and I accordingly made with a quick pour. Color is very red with a thin but present pinkish white head. Nose is full of cherry, tartness and good old funk. The tastic is pungent and sour and fills the mouth quite nicely. The tartness is pronounced and yummy. Great Kriek.

A Mes rate: Cheap 75cl bottle thanks to Duff. Loving every minute of this. Every bit of what is in here shows through. Perfect puckery lambic sourness, plenty of tnag from the cherries and a lovely hoppy note especially in the nose. Slight alcohol showing through all round but it just makes it even better. Very moreish lychee finish. Maybe just lacking a little body but the palate is still excellent. Great beer.

From a 750 ml bottle, shared by brewfiend, pours a ruby brownish red brew with an off-white/pinkish head. Aroma of sour cherries and sparkling wine. Taste is highly carbonated, sour cherries, some cane sugar, and some citrus aftertaste. Finish is light, with a cherry character that sticks around.
