Commercial Description:
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewer’s Gold varieties of hops.

Spontanious weekend 07. Shared with pat. Notes say: i had to shake the over carbonation out a bit. Kriek, oud brune base, very drinkable balanced sourness, a bit chalky which was unusual but something id like to try again. This finished me off also. RERATE: Bottle from paisley beer fest. Man o man, the mix of girardain lambic and oud brune are amazing, the cherrys character is almost unnoticeable which i dont mind. Soo drinkable soo much going on, its soo funky. Amazing beer one of the best iv ever had forsure. Possibly up with the sourest too.

I’ve had this many times and love it, but recently had a bottle aged exactly 5 years, and it was definitely worth the wait. The cherries were just as prevalent but dryer, the body had thinned a bit and a deep sour woodiness emerged that put it on par with the best batches of La Folie. Unmatched!

Finale secco.Grande birra!

Bottle at Falling Rock.
Pours a deep, mysterious, and cloudy candy read with an aroma of sour cherry Luden’s and raspberry tart soaked in leathery cedar. Flavor is an invigorating sour bomb of cherry, raspberry, leather, and cedar. This beer simply refuses to leave the tongue. Woah. So good I need a cigarette.

750. The beer is hazy, medium scarlet red with a large, frothy, pink, diminishing but mostly lasting head.
The aroma is quite FSA-like, packed with sweet, funk. Malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie; Hoppy with a moderate floral/rose note; Yeasty with moderate-to-heavy notes of barnyard, horseblanket, light notes of soap and dank basement; Miscellaney contains a moderate-to-heavy note of tart cherry, moderate note of vinous vineagar, concentrated grape juice and oak.
The flavor is moderately acidic, lightly-to-moderately sweet, trace bitter with a long, lightly-to-moderately acidic, lightly sweet finish. Lots of genuine cherry in the aftertaste.
The body is medium, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is softer than lively.
Beautiful and memorable.

Bottled. Hazily redish brown. Acidic lemon aroma. Medium bodied and soft with lovely flavour from sour black cherries. Tart finish. A top class kriek,

Head is initially small, fizzy, pink, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium reddish-purple, unfiltered. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately yeasty (horseblanket, barnyard, cobwebs), with notes of cherry, currants, wood, clove. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation. Much like a traditional kriek lambic, and amazing at that (better than quite a few actual kriek lambics). Very horsey, and quite tart.
