Inspite of the name, this beer is not black, but rather a hazy deep red color with a huge tan head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of caramel, as well as an acidic edge, and spicy and herbal notes. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, herbs, and a touch of alcohol, that tickles the tongue, leading to a dry spicy finish. It is very dry due to very little residual sugar. Liqourice, yeasty and roasted caramel malt aroma. Flavour is sweet and spiced and liqourice for the first main impression. Gains in intensity of the spice flavours. Adds a light classic belgian yeast touch and some lingering caramel. Finish is spiced and liqourice and with a persisting yeasty touch. Bitter into the far finish and quite fruity. fonefan (11896), VestJylland, Denmark
