Commercial Description:
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

The body looks very "unfiltered", but all doubts disappear when you start drinking it. This is one of the best Yulebeer I’ve had, and it surprised all my guest at +mas table.

Looks like a typical super hoppy ale in a goblet, but wow!!! cheers to the glorious taste of Belgian yeast and hops!! Lots of carbonation, lotsof light, repeat light, hoppy flavor, really refreshing and great with mouth coating foods like eggs and cheese. Well done!!

750 ml green champagne bottle. Crowned & corked. Best by date is 09/2012. Green paper wrapped bottle, no label. Poured out a dirty orange color, with a foamy tan head. Since this beer is only 3 months old, I’ll rate it as is. Aromas are of earthy noble hops, dry biscuit, yeasty funk. Flavors are yeasty funk, tingly carbonation, some damp basement. Well balanced, especially for a Belgian. Decent mouthfeel, lively & tingly. Finished semi dry.

33 cl. bottle. Poured (w/yeast) a cloudy orange and a frothy head. Some dusty yeast in the aroma with some citrusy hops. Nice dry off-sweet bready malt flavor with just a touch of caramel and citrus with spikey hops. Some underlying yeasty mustiness as well. Fine carbonation. My kind of Christmas ale! Blonde-amber Belgian with snappy hops and a dry finish. A nice change from some of the dark gingerbread/fruitcake/glogg type stuff you see this time of year. Hell, I’ll drink this in July.

Merry fuckin’ Christmas! This beer was gladfully enjoyed on Xmas eve at the Luts house. Sharp carbonation, a light amber body. Finished quite bitter and delectable. Go for this brew if you can!

33 cL bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy orange with an average, fizzy, white head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cereal), average hops (flowers, grass), average yeast (earth) with notes of apple and cask. Medium bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Draught Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a copper with an off white head. The aroma is spicy coriander and perfume. Taste is strong metallic with a strange grain, but remained strong to that metal finish. Is my mouth rusting up?

Bottle @ Cole’s Christmas Tasting 2007. Hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of pine freshener and soapy floral spice. It was better than that probably sounds. Sweet flavour initially but spice in the middle leads to an unexpectedly dry finish. Average palate. Ok, probably would not go out of my way to try it again.
