Commercial Description:
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

This nice little bottle contains a warm amber brew with a copper hue. The head is nice and the aroma has notes of fruit, sweetness and spice. The flavour is sweetish with notes of coriander, spice and fruit. The finish is nice and dry with a good bitterness.

Bottle from the Rake. Honey in colour with a malty white head. Floral nose. Hoppy, bitter taste. Sharp, abrupt bitterness. Citrus finish. The end.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one, comes wrapped in green paper with a picture of santa indulging in a nice size brew(thats cool). Bottle capped and corked. Pours cooper/amber with a one inch foamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and spices. The flavor is citrus, spices, nice subtle hoppiness, and some wood in its flavor. Good body, good brew.

Bottle. Golden/Orange with a large off-white foam. Aromas are spiced sweet oranges with sweet malts. Some herbal, spicy notes. Flavours are dry spiced oranges with good hoppy, fruity bitterness. Peppery and bitter on the finish. Pretty good.

Dark golden color with an off-white foamy head. Somewhat light aroma of fresh fruits, hops, and sweet malts. Interestingly spicy and hoppy flavors with a sweet malty and yeasty base. The spiciness and bitterness produced an interesting numbing feeling on my tongue. Very dry, hoppy finish. Unique and pretty good, but probably not something I’ll go back to.

Bottle. Amber beer with a huge off-white head. Easrthy, spicy hop aroma with some sweet malt. Spicy, sweet, earthy flavor with pepper and some xmas spices and caramel. Lingering spice. Medium body. Strange spice/hop bitterness combination that gets better.
