Commercial Description:
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

Awesome beer, no doubt about it. I could not find all the Christmas Bers I wanted, but this was good. The foam is awesome, some creamy, and the cloudy colour is great.

Kerstbierfestival Essen. Orange coloured beer with a nice white head. Bit dusty, hoppy nose. Pretty intense bitter taste, but the bitternessseems to fade away towards the end, strangely enough.

Cloudy orange aroma. Thick white head. Fruity and wooden aroma with hints of yeast. A little hoppy and peppery flavor. A fruity and a little yeasty finish.

Kind of fruity and I like the hops that are present. Tastes a lot like the Delirium Noel but not as good

A somewhat off-putting sour vinegar nose. This tastes sour as well but better that it smells. Very bitter finish which helped pull my rating up a couple.

Amber/brown and headless, this has a taste of soft caramel malt, slightly sour, with an earthy, floral hop bitterness. The aroma is a bit funky, sour and musty. It finishes on a nice bitter note. Quite drinkable.

A Mes rate: A 2004 33cl bottle from the Beer Circus. Nice dusty and hoppy but mellow aroma. Hazy amber appearance with a white head that settles quickly to a thin film. Well balanced with some anaseed and oranges. Gentle crisp and spicy finish.
