1993 bottle (375ml) at De Heeren van Lindekerke
Pours like clear apple juice. Nutty honey and apple crisp nose, a bit old and faded (musty), but still quite enticing. Light prickliness on the tongue up front, then more of a faded sweetness, giving way to a tannic burnt almond flavor and finally a bright and sharp acidity in the finish, coating the mouth with apple cider flavored residue.

A Mes rate: 93 bottle from the Kulminator.
Sadly this was just on its way out but it was still bloody good. Bright gold with a very slight hazy and a thin but lasting white head. Big barnyardy sourness, loads of lemon and just a slight lick of sweetness desperately clinging onto life. Lovely bitterness round the edges of the palate and a big cheesy acidic finish. Why oh why do De Troch not make them like this anymore?

[3/8/08] Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke in Denderleeuw. 1993 vintage. Clear golden with a very small, almost non-existing, white head. A rather funky aroma with some wood and some citrus. A very good flavor – dry sour citrus, some oak and barnyard character and some light astringency. Medium-bodied. A decent traditional Gueuze.

[9/4/08] Bottle, about 30-40 years old, shared by Uli at LambikODroom in Beersel. Clear deep golden color with a bit of white foam. Aroma of sugar, oak, fruits, some honey, oxidation, barnyard, a certain medicinal quality and vinegar. Puckering sour flavor with some citric notes. Medium-bodied. Same score as in the previous rating.

37,5cl from 1993 - Beautiful really deep golden yellow body with a small white head; Beautiful deep really fresh lemony sour, some malt and hay notes as well as marzipan and macaroon, no sign of age; Quite soft textured body with no carbonation, very sour and very complex; Very long sour finish, complex, hay and wood aromas toped by tons of fresh lemon juice;

Kulminator, bottle 1999. Notes say: Flowery, citrus yeast. Everything seems to have mellowed nicey, great complexity, subtile sour hints.
