De Troch Kriekenlambik

Draught @ WSF 2008. Clear deep red with tiny pinkish head. Very sweet aroma with cherry notes. Cloying sweet with artificial cherry and almond notes.

Draught @ WSF. Looks an unnatural tropical punch colour with no head. Aroma of cherry and oddly coconut, some yeast notes. Taste is much the same, tart and salty but thin. Hawaiian Punch anyone?

Hazy red of color, no head. An aroma with notes of cherries, hints of sweets and sour notes. A flavor with fruit notes, some sour notes and honts of sweets.

Draught@The Weekend of Spontaneous fermentation. Pretty dry, and lightly sour/acidic, with some lightly sweet cherry characters. I actually thought this was quite decent, and something i’d be quite happy drinking, if there was nothing else on offer!

WOSF - Cloudy light ruby with no head. Soft cherry pit aroma with some compost funk manages to hide the hideous De troch character well enough. Flavour is moderately tart, slight juicy cherry and wet oak and a few slithered almonds. A little thick in the mouth perhaps which is a bit weird.

On tap @ Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2007. Kinda pale red in colour. Not too well balanced with notes of cherries and wood.

Draught. Clear red colour with some orangeish hints. Aroma is cherries, strawberries, spices and some earth. Flavour is red berries, some honey and a bit of wood. Pleasant surprise from De Troch...

A Mes rate: Draught. Cloudy pale red colour. Aroma of cinamon, spice and raspberry. Lovely cough candy note to the flavour that is plenty sour and puckery with a strong straw finish. Knowing what I know of De Troch, this was a pleasant surprise.
