Bottled at Ter Posterie, Ypres, Belgium 23-06-07 along with a bottle of De Dolle Dulle Teve, this had a lot to live up to as the Dulle Teve was superb. This beer poured much darker than I expected and was really teetering on the edge of being amber in colour rather than the orange golden I anticipated. Subtle in taste and really needing a few sips before its true colours started to show, nice creaminess started to come through along with malts. Not bad at all.

Bottle. I read some ratings about this beer looking quite horrible, but I didn’t see that in this pour. Slightly hazy, but yellow orange in color with a large frothy white head. Aroma is yeasty with fruit and citrus and a slight farmhouse funk. The flavor is decent, quite tangy and carbonated, with a fairly sharp, bitter bite. Did have an unidentifiable quality to me, which I now assume is the earthy/cork flavor that previous ratings have mentioned. Noticeable but doesn’t ruin the beer. A decent tripel overall.

Bottle from Belgianbeergal. Hazy golden-amber with a nice frothy white head, good lacing, and some sediment. Aroma is spicy yeast, sugar, and some citrus character. Flavor is mostly sweet with some citrus tang and a strange dusty? flavor. Dust is the only way I can describe it. Its not bad and it takes a back seat but its still there. Otherwise silky, moderate carbonation, and drinkable. Pretty good Tripel. Okay I just read some of the other ratings to find out about that "dust" flavor. Its cork. I agree.

Bottled. Tnx to joes for leaving this one in Bunnik. Aroma has citrus, some sugar/caramel, spice and yeast. Hazy, orange coloured with, thin head. Taste is a little sweet, bit spicy and fruity. Alcohol noticeable.

Bottled, thx to joes. Vleteren Extra Blonde according to the bottle. Hazy orange color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, orange peel, slight alcohol, sugar cane. Smooth taste with a slight spicy bite, some alcohol burn noticeable, but in a pleasant way. Decent strong belgian triple.

Huge, very dense & fine yellowish head over fully hazy orange beer. Sharp, spicy-malty nose, slighlty sourish-greenery, bit of caramel. Sharp roasted malts’ taste, but with a good, if uneasy, balance between sweet-sour and a suggestion of bitterness. Alcohol obvious in taste and MF, liqueurish; grainy esters if that makes sense. Sharp MF, burning, well bodied and slick. Better than expected, there seems to be indeed a difference with the Antiek blond.
