hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 24, 2004 The brewer left the brewery before this one was named. The staff named it and apparently no one currently at the lodge knows how to carbonate. No deduction of points for the beer’s flatness. It’s like a cask conditioned lager(?). I’m not a big fan of cask conditioned ales, so I’ll rate this one like I do the ales... pretending they are supposed to be flat and boring. Sorry CAMRA. Murky, caramel colored lager. Nice, malty, fruity aroma... caramel, pomegranate, raspberry, straw and very light chocolate. The flavor is moderately bitter with balancing malt. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, tangy, bitter, dry finish.
