argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Sep 23, 2007 (750ml hand bottled by brewer, thanks jasonp) Quickly dissipating small beige head atop copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, cherry, light wood, musty/funk. Taste is mild sweet, cherry, fairly sour/vinegar. Watery light-medium body, some acidity, undercarbonated. acrdz (4373), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 24, 2007 Color is a lightly murky amber. Low carbonation, from corked bottle. Has a really wonderful nose of rich, perfumy, potpourri cherries. Palate is prickly, with some light sour apple notes, tasting of brown sugar and black cherry skins, with a light acidity that barely bites the tongue. Overall I get a big creamed cherry perfume taste. Quite good. kmweaver (2125), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Sep 22, 2007 750ml hand-corked bottle, courtesy of jasonp. Thanks Jason! Pours a mildly hazy, orange-amber color; off-white head with patchy retention. Bing cherries, mild tartness and doughiness in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: slightly tart cherries, minimal acidity, and a pleasant, doughy belgian core; slightly foamy at mid-palate. Medium, cherry and doughy finish. notalush (2075), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Oct 20, 2007 Cask and Spuyten Duyvil - a rather subdued and one-dimensional flemish red - not particularly sour, just a bit of tart cherry skins and pits - light grain flavor, and some earthy notes - not a whole lot going on, but light and refreshing - probably good "gateway" flemish red. puzzl (1820), New York, New York, USA Sep 29, 2007 Ruddy orange-gold color. Nice lacing. Gently tart, grapefruit aroma. Smooth, light cherry in the taste. Authentic and nice, and subtle, but very unexciting. While this beer has no noticeable flaws, it really doesn’t have that much interest, either. Nothing grabs at you and makes you want to take another sip. Still, it’s always good to see more brewers doing things like this.
