The palate is rich and smokey. A great example of a love or hate style. Not as smokey as last year. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Complex, but falls short of the on the malt if comparing to the Bamberg version. Full-bodied, sweet bock base is complemented by a terrific balance of smoke towards the finish. There is also a great bit of ale-like fruitiness in play here, a beautiful counter-point to the smoke and the caramel of the bock. Aproaches Schlenkerla’s level, and certainly one of the ten best beers in America. A stunning piece of brewing! Oakes (8166), Kowloon, Hong Kong
