Dekoninck Gueuze

33cl bottle from La Brocante in Bruxelles. Pours hazy peach with a big fluffy head. Aroma is tart with hints of green apples. Taste is light tart, lots of green apples, acidic and a bit funk. Hints of peach maybe and white wine grapes. Overall not enough tart and a bit too acidic. Great lacing and head retention is very long. Great beer nonetheless.

Bottle at Delirium Café, Brussels. Pours reddish golden with a small dense egg white head. Aromas of bread, musty basement, citrus fruits and wood. Tart flavour with notes of wood, citrus, earth and spice. Dry and crisp. Very delicious!

(375ml bottle, 2000 vintage, BB 02/01/2010) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of champagne, cork, horse blanket, and citrus. Flavor of grapefruit and lemon, though mildly acidic for a gueuze, with a dry finish.

Golden with a lasting white head. Funky aroma dominated by grapefruit and leather. Dry and medium tart funky flavour with lots of oak and tannins

75cl bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours clear golden with a fine creamy egg white head. Nose and taste is tart, crisp, wood, mouldy, cellar/matured. Smooth mouthfeel. Very nice!

TAP: amber pour, big white head. Sweet musty smell, mild Belgian spice taste. Pretty darn good.

Murky brown pour with a small white head. Musty sour aroma of yeast and dry fruit. Flavor is like an old apple cider with a dash of tropical fruit. Definitely funky. Not bad.

Clear golden with medium white creamy notes. Sour aroma with woody and grapefruit notes. Sour flavour with woody, citric and brett notes. Finished sour. Creamy mouthfeel for a gueuze.
