Commercial Description:
Manana is a Mexican-style amber lager (cerveza oscura). The malty, bold flavor of this beer recalls the European roots of Mexico’s great brewing history. Smooth and rich, Manana is superb, whether enjoyed alone or with your favorite Mexican food.

Bottle poured a clear amber with alingering ring of amber fgoam. Aromas of carmel, nuts and a hint of coffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel,m bread and light nuts with a crisp malty finish.

Pours a brownish color with a small head with a molasses and crystal malt aroma. Medium-high carbonation with a dry slightly sweet brown sugar and heavy malt taste. I think the aroma is a little better than the taste. But this is one of the better ambers I have had and definitely the best Mexican style beer I have had.

Medium amber; headless. Light body with a syrupy base. Big toast, some roast, nuts, caramel and toffee. Some Oktoberfest characteristics. Mild, herbal bitterness. OK session beer but not very exciting.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly hoppy (apricot), with notes of bile, zucchini, and hair spray. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. What a bummer...as with the bottled Orale I just sampled, this is tainted with some really nasty aromas (chemical, vegetal, vomit-like) that literally makes my stomach flip every time I take a sniff. They’re hidden slightly better under the malt here than in the Orale, but they’re impossible to escape. That these off notes appear in both beers means the Orale wasn’t a fluke (and no, it’s not my glassware). So sad when this happens...it was reasonably drinkable at GABF last year. Truly scary in bottled form though. Hope they fix the issues.

Had this beer at the All Colorado Beer Fest on 11/10/2007. Aroma is faint with some malt tones. Color is a golden amber with ok carbonation and a good head. Taste comes in on a light body with a nice sweet malt flavor and mild bitterness. I think this is the best Mexican-style beer I can remember having.
