Sampled during Great Taste of Midwest 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear reddish purple colored brew with a thin pinkish white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of tart berries, a hint of lemon and some bready malt. Taste is more distinct than its aroma with flavors of tart blackberries, white bread, a hint of lemon zest and a touch of honey. Finish has a light blackberry aftertaste the slowly disappears. Surprisingly, not bad for a berry weisen.

Sampled at GTMW 2009. From the name of this beer I expected something along the line of Lienenkugel’s Sunset Wheat. After seeing a few glasses of this pinkish-purple thick beer I was intrigued and knew there was more to this than what I had expected. The aroma was virtually non-existent so I still was unable to know what to expect. The flavor, however, was powerful; a big blackberry punch. I know nothing of this brewery and I would not normally have tried this but I’m sure glad I did. Very well done.

On tap at Delafield. Poured ruddy pinkish-brown with a pink-tinted, well-retained cap of head. The aroma picked up a nice hit of fresh blackberries upfront with lemon zest and tangy wheat beneath.. very well balanced. The flavor showcased fine blackberry character with dry, tangy wheat and seeds around.. kind of empty on the short finish (short hit of blackberries and NutraSweet). Tart and refreshing on the palate with light body to it.. the fruit was well used in here.. solid brew.
