StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 26, 2006 Clear, transparent and semi-magnifying pale gold with a creamy, soapy and sudsy white head leaving good marshmallow lacing tracks in its wake. Starchy aroma of sourdough and pils musk intermingle with lemon cleanser, fabric softener and dishwasher tabs. An overarching aromatic theme that hints at a sock drawer which has been opened for the first time in a decade. Flavor is surprisingly decent. Biscuits and sourdough give it that starchy pils profile. Crisp lemons don’t bleed acidity. Perfumey, and a garden variety of ragweed and pollen. Admirable hop equation with malt sweetening to draw out the more aggressive searing at the tongue’s back hatch. Scratchy, dry feel that recesses cleanly, leading to curt crescent rolls, lemon husks and marigolds in the finish. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jan 17, 2006 Yellow color with a medium head. Slightly sour grain aroma. Well it’s pretty much what i’d expect for the taste: sour grains and lots o’ booze. Blargh. JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jan 3, 2005 Deep golden color with a smallish white head. Aromas of sweet malt, with hints of floral hops and alcohol. Description states "Inspired by export lagers of Bavaria", Seems more like a Polish or Russian Strong Lager with heavy malt, mixed with fortifies white wine. It does seem to improve slightly as it warms, but still way too industrial and unwelcoming for my taste. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Nov 26, 2004 On tap at the brewery 11/26/2004 Delafield Brewhaus Export Lager is amber yellow with a small head and lace sheets. The aroma is very subtle. The flavor is sweet, very bread like, sort of hops like, but rather middle of the road with a decent body for a lager. Overall, my least favorite.
