Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 9, 2006 Deep gold, still and leaving decent legs on the glass. Everything is well displayed in line here. The acidity emanates right off the gate along with the sweet Cortlands. It is sweet and thick, but not exagerated, impressing with its crisp acidity that almost amplifies the desserty notions. Very long aftertaste, fleshy, juicy and softly hinting at minerals which somehow work well here. A parallel floral dimension also contributes a sense of serenity to this charming example. Almost a refreshing ice cider, juicy and porous. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 11, 2006 Honeyed apples, pears, and passionfruit develop a curvaceous body...A pretty sweet flavor profile could have been helped by a bolder aroma, but the actual perfume is too faint to activate the tastebuds...Still, this a glass of warm winter sunshine, and accomplishes what an ice cider should accomplish in my view, which is lip-smacking goodness, slight complexity, and comfort for the soul... Lubiere (3410), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 A golden yellow, not to dark. A sweet sugary apple compote in aroma, light alcohol. In mouth, a very sweet candied apple, with light caramel, sweetened apple juice alcohol. CapFlu (3353), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Sep 19, 2005 (375ml bottle) Purchased at the SAQ Casino. Pours a oily, gold body with nice viscosity. Nose is very sweet with a cortland undertone. I love the range from sweetness to tartednes to acidity in this cider. It leaves a dry, sweet and alocoholic breath for any cop to smell when pulled over. Best of all - if you share this gem you’d likely get a visit from the whole police station out to visit! A very good treat. God I love Quebec ice ciders. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 6, 2008 2008-04-04. Crisp golden yellow body coasts the glass. (3+) Sweet mild aroma of apple sauce, fresh apples. (7+) Similar flavour, sweet, lightly sugary, modest fruit apples, apple cores and very light notes of skins. Smooth syrupy medium palate. Not super complex, but quite nice and rather drinkable which is not true of some other ice ciders. Bottle generously shared by Tupalev, which I appreciatively repaid by shattering the glass on the floor. Doh!
