RIch chocolate smell with dark fruit - plum, raisons, spices and an overall sense of sweet. Nice and intreuging. Taste rich and fruity with only a hint of alcohol. Lots of rasberyy and blackberry a little apple, cherry all mixed with strong bitter chcolate. Sweet is the predominant flavour but it’s not sickly. Smooth yet with some prickly carbonation. Absolutely brilliant. MagnumPI (56), Essex, England

Fruity wafts on corkage promised much and delivered early on, with complex rich tastes in the mouth/aftertaste. Fine head which quickly cleared and pleasant hue.. It accompanied the curry well half way through, but did lose its panache in the final third. Certainly enjoyable

Yeasty aroma with a slight "roasted" something. Not too heavy on tounge and a nice smooth finish. Wasn’t too bad with my turkey. skoll (145), Traverse City, Michigan, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2009 Deep cloudy brown in color. It almost looks like muddy water. Dried fruit, cherries and citrus round out the aroma. Flavor consists of a fruit cake component. Definitely spice and Christmas flavors are present. Overall, it makes a nice sipping beer. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 14, 2009 I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to rate this awesome beer. Pours a very dark, deep red with a lively tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is very assertive, loaded with dark fruits. Flavor is phenomenal, with an immediate smoke and roasted coffee flavors that is mellowed by dark fruit undertones – cherry and plum – and even a little citrus. The fruit flavors become more prevalent towards the finish, which has a gentle spicy bite to it. Finish leaves a roasted smoke on the palate. Palate is fairly thin with a lively carbonation. Overall I think this is an excellent brew that is very, very drinkable.

Can’t really taste the alcohol at all, good amount of carbonation. Not bad at all. BritAlesRule (84), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2009 Pours a deep brown with a decent head that dissipates quickly. Sweet nutty and dark fruit aroma. Taste is a prune and raisin confection in a light/medium mouthfeel and a refreshing carbonation on the tongue. I don’t detect any alcohol, but I’m drinking this at slightly less than cellar temperature. Bottled 14 months ago. Nice.
