Smells like ripe bananas and carmel. Tastes like ripe fermented dark fruit, like prunes, raisins, cherries, sub-tropical fruits and some hops. Some spicy notes and citrus are hinted. A little taste of roasted sugars or carmel is very present in the aftertaste. Very sticky mouthfeel. lithy (1725), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Pours an opaque brownish red, with a thick lasting head. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Flavor is well-balanced with the belgian yeast smoothness balanced with a spicy subtle bitterness. Candy flavored finish, and an all-around pleasant belgian ale. Did I mention the bottle is cool as well? nhamilton (68), Cibolo, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 4, 2009 One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Dark brown with a medium tan head. No bitterness, aroma of caramel. Worth the high price! Guinnessman (88), VACAVILLE, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Nice brown color. Smooth malty flavor with a hint of caramel. Doesn’t have the bite you would expect from such a high alcohol content. BusBoy (20), , California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Poured a malty brown colored body with a small off-white head. Smell is unfermented malts and dried fruit. Hop scent is of orange blossoms. Taste is clean and malty with unfermented sugars. Sour hops are rosie and orange flavored on the palate. As I finish my glass I’m getting a hint of cherry wood like it was barrel aged in cherry. An excellent beer. Well made. Clean and smooth. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Pours dark dark amber, slightly cloudy. Giant, fluffy tan head.
An amazingly drinkable beer, 8.5% alcohol hardly shows through.
What you get are sweet malts, hops, spice and maple syrup.
Clean (almost watery) on the palate, but still quite complex.
