From the bottle, pours a very dark red with a nice foamy tan head. Malty fruity aroma with notes of apricot and light malts. Taste is lightly watery, malty, with alcohol and brown sugar, raisins, and with a bitter bite in the end. Finish is smooth, though, and is light enough to drink. Pretty good.

11.2oz bottle-pours a big foamy light tan head mahogany/ruby red color with floaties. Aroma is somewhat sweet medium malt-towards brown sugar, fruit-berries, raisin with some tartness. Taste is medium malt-towards brown sugar, fruit-berries, raisin with some tartness/fermented, secondary herbal hops, some oak. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

Full malt and hop aroma, plus a touch of herbs. Cool white bottle. Pretty malty flavor, with some astringency, lemon, and grains. Pretty good, but not as good as Delirium Tremens or Delirium Noel.

out of the ceramic-looking painted 11.2 oz bottle, it pours a foamy garnet color, mostly clear but with a slight yeast settlement. the head is dense and beige, and sticks even to a pre-wet tulip glass. the yeast produced dark fruits: fig, prune, date. fennel and anise are more subtle, and there is a bit of heat behind it all which hides well behind the general sweetness of the aroma. the flavor is molasses and yeasty fruit. raisin, rye bread and some further alcohol heat. overall a sweet and alcoholic beer but not cloying - pleasant and sippable if nothing else.

Shame my local only has the ’normal’ version, this is a winner to me. Got that slight aniseed type thing like the normal and some other Belgians. Got fruits, caramel, Belgian yeast. Right up my street. Very tasty and a pleasure to drink. Lovely mouthfeel.

This was a pretty damn good belgian strong ale. I’d drink it again. Pours a dark amber colour with a light tannish white head. malty taste and aroma. I drank this out of a tumbler.

Pours dark brown with a mostly maintained wispy tan head. Aroma of raisins, tropical fruit, banana, rum, brown sugar. Taste is fruity, notes of pineapple, banana, raisin, plum, phenolic spice and wood. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lush carbonation. Enjoyed this one a lot more once it warmed a bit, although the phenolics got a bit medicinal near the end.

Color is a dark ruby with good carbonation and a tight off white head. Aroma is a sweet toasted caramel scent. Taste is malty and fizzy. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a very fizzy feel. Finish is malty with a mild fruity yeast flavor and a dried fruit sweetness. After taste is clean and dry with the fruit slowly fading. This is a fabulous brew, mildly complex with great Belgian flavors.
