First rate, second bottle. Pours a deep red with a solid head that dissipates after a few moments but leaves a small ring. Aroma is of overripe fruit. Flavor is complex, sweet raisin almost. Lots of yeast flavor. Mouthfeel is present and stays with a nice warm alcohol touch. Excellent brew.

Poured a deep ruby from that silly bottle, plethora of fruit hit the nose, mainly for me banana, some malts, but very fruity in both smell and taste. Extremely full-bodied and thick, tasted some more complex fruits as it finished, alcohol was present but well-hidden. Finished the night with this one and didn’t regret it.

From a 750mL Bottle. Somewhat hazy, chestnut shell colored pour with a tall head of fizzy light beige. Aromas of pear esters, raisins, cherry licorice, and some sweet toffee malt. Hints of banana and even some herbal hints of the peel. Light bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a soft, almost chalky texture. Flavors of toffee, light toasted malt, and raisins up front on the palate, followed by a drying nutty bitterness. Finishes dry and toasty, with a lingering alcohol warmth. Hints of bubblegummy yeast. Nothing off-putting, but I’m just not that enamored with the flavor complexity or yeast characters.

This beer is very similar to the tremmens only it’s a little darker and sweeter. It has a nice copper color and a thin white head. the flavor is a nice crisp sweet tofee and dried fruit with a curious tang of sourness. This tang is understated but lendsa nice balance to the mild sweetness. A good example of balance. I like it better than the tremmens.

Pours from 11.2 oz bottle a golden, light copper color, forming a modest white foam of head. Aroma of rock candy, dark fruit, spices. Flavour was of light tartness, fruits, caramel malts, ever so slight hops. Enjoyable beer, tartness with a sweet mildness nicely balances this beer. Belgians prove that they are kings at making and brewing beer.

Pours reddish brown with modest head. Aroma is sweet, sugary fruit, caramel, and a slight tartness. Flavor is a mix of dark fruit, caramel, and some citrus tartness. Palate is slightly thin, but quite smooth.

pours a dark garnet with small head. aroma of dark fruit, sugar, and spice. Flavor has a lot of raisin and prune, with definite nutmeg and malt tones. Palate is unremarkable. Ok beer, but nothing too impressive.

Had this one a few times but never rated it. Dark brown ale poured with a bubbly tan head and a thick malt aroma. The head fizzled away pretty fast uncovering a murky, still bublling beer. The flavor is fruity with lots of brown sugar, followed by some unpleasant bitterness and an alcohol trail. I remember why I haven’t had one of these for a while. It’s drinkable, but not memorable.
