This beer poured a reddish brown color with a big frothy tan head. Lots of lacing with an aroma of alcohol, molasses, and caramel. I really wanted to love this beer but just thought it was ok

An unclear brown beer with sediment & no head. The aroma is like alcohol soaked fruit. The taste is fruity with apples being the most dominant, sweet, & alcohol that is similar to a wine taste.

750ml bottle via Hagen. Pours a dar brown with an average size beige head. Nose is dark currants and a little sourness. Taste is dark fruit, chocolate rapsberries, cream, mildy sour cherries, and some subtle licorice blended with some kind of funk that is hard to desrible. It does work well though and i am very surprised at how much i dig this. Body is medium/full, carbonation is high.

Pours an opaque dark brown, with a large, creamy light-brown head that lasts. Aroma is of fig, caramel, a little cinnamon/nutmeg, and slight alcohol. Flavor is quite trappist in nature, with brown sugar, sweet malt, cream, bread. Velvety mouthfeel, medium viscosity. Overall, very good.

Magnum --> goblet. First thoughts, glad to see Huyge has moved to newcork over real cork. Pours thick tan head with large bubbles - can hear them pop. Very dark brown with amber tint. Aroma is dried apricots and hint of cinnamon. Mouthfeel is velvety and milky. Can be a bit crisp if you don’t let it breathe for a few minutes. Tastes like raisin pudding and brown sugar in front w/ dark chocolate finish. This is one of my favorite Belgians.

12 oz bottle, Marcello’s, Lafayette, LA - Aroma: raisin (malt), soft alcohol, low spicy, Appearance: dark brown, low cloudy, light tan head; Flavor: low to med sweet, mod salt, low to med sour, raisin (malt), med alcohol, med dry; Mouthfeel: med body, high carbonation; Overall: nice dark, complex, rich, smooth strong ale which really tingles the sweet, salt, and sour parts of the tongue.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a thick tan head of good duration with some lacing, over a clear sllightly reddish dark brown (SRM 25) body.....nose is dried fruits including raisin, cherry also a bit of molasses and barnyard......taste initially is slightly sweet malts, then light dried fruits, finishes slightly bitter.....mouth feel is rather light, carbonation is high. This is a pleasant, drinkable, and enjoyable, but underwhelming Belgian Strong. Both nose and flavors do not reach either the richness, or complexity of many.
