Smells of brown sugar, red wine gravy, caramel and dried fruits. Yum! Tastes of primarily malts and dark fruit. Weird finish that I can’t pin. A lot of yeast, earthly malt and orange in the taste and aroma. dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2007 From the tap at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Brown, reddish in direct light with a significant, nice looking tan head. Aroma is spicy, with dark pitted fruits and sweet malt, most noticeably and surprisingly a distinctive caramel component. Taste is a bit muddled to me - caramel, prunes and plums, a bit of alcohol. Very sweet with a sweet finish and a slight spice in the after. Soft, rounded on the tongue but the carbonation needs to be picked up a bit - maybe better in this respect from the bottle. Nice but doesn’t compare to some. Crash (449), Macomb, Illinois, USA

First off, wow what a head! I poured this thing gently and was starting to worry that it was going to overflow the side of the glass. Needless to say, I let it sit for a couple of minutes to recede.
Smell is some fruit, yeast and alcohol.
Taste is a slightly bubbly cherry and raisin with alcohol on the back end. It tastes really light and velvety smooth. I get a lot of dark fruit and raisin in the aftertaste in my mouth.
This is a highly sessionable beer. One I wouldn’t mind sipping all night long. You’ll constantly find a subtle flavor showing up throughout this beer as it warms.
This beer will definitely be revisited. Very happy with the purchase and will definitely purchase again.
Highly recommend. jeremytoni (1123), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Bottle. Poured a reddish brown with a tan head that lasts and leave good lacing. HUGE floaters in the glass. The aroma was of fruit and floral that starts sweet but turns a little sour. Light alcohol and malts also in the aroma. The flavor is mainly fruity with apple, raisin, and prunes standing out. Light chocolate background also. Medium body. Definitely not my favorite Belgium but it’s decent. theviolet (169), New York, New York, USA
