CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Dec 28, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Very fruity nose, with something else thats different and interesting, but maybe not good. Flavor is the same but the finish stings in a bad way. But its aight. hrking (108), Muncie, Indiana, USA Dec 28, 2008 Pour to a fast rising head probably due to candi sugars added in brew.Nice head retention.Aroma of green apples.I was expecting a slap in the face with clove or coriander and that was not the case at all.For a 10 percent beer its well hidden.Nice sweet malt balance with candi sugar and some spices.Pleasant surprise . JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Dec 28, 2008 A bottle from Alko shop. Pale thin head. Reddish copper brown colour.. Mild slightly sour taste. Fruity. Warming. Some prunes in the taste. gary07734 (391), Tyne & Wear, England Dec 28, 2008 Nice dark pour with a little froth, no real head. Taste is classic belgian yeast and malt, a nice xmas cake style spiciness and sweetness, with a warming alcohol finish. Very enjoyable, and the spice is pleasant. beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Dec 28, 2008 750 ml bottle which was a Christmas gift from my friend Russell. Pours a slightly hazed reddish amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first half of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, yeast, candi sugar, and dates. The flavor is again malt, yeast, candi sugar, and dates, but it is sweeter than the aroma and not as yeasty. Warming alcohol burn at the finish. There is a bit of fresh bread in the aftertaste several seconds after the swallow. Enjoyable. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Dec 26, 2008 Updated: Dec 27, 2008The aroma is of fruit, alcohol. yeast. The appearance is a dark red/brown, decent off-white head. The flavor is fruity, yeasty, bread-like. The finish is slightly bitter from both the hops and the spicy quality of this ale. The alcohol is well hidden, and the mouthfeel is medium. Decent holiday ale. tsetlock (66), Livonia, Michigan, USA Dec 26, 2008 Medium reddish color with an off white head. Fruity-cherries abound in the aroma. Slightly sweet, tart and syrupyat once. Alcohol burn at the end of the swallow.
