This bottle was from March, 2006. Pour is brown-copper-ruby-orange with a one 1/2 inch tan head. Aroma of Belgian yeastiness and holiday spices. Taste mirrors the nose quite closely, though is far more carbonated than it appeared. Carbonation made this very soft, and really nice with the roast dinner. I really enjoyed this one. bhensonb (4237), Woodland, California, USA

Dark amber color with a orange-beige head that did not stay, though it laced lightly while departing. Medium in body with very smooth carbonation. The flavor is something of overripe plum accompanied by sweet malt and mild spice. Heat is noticeable on the way to the finish, and it ends a bit dryish with arguably floral hop. It’s very sippable. Might be a counterpart to an American barleywine. Acknud (772), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA

I am not sure why, but there is a ton of particulates in this beer. Cherries maybe? The aroma is sweet candy canes and cherry. The taste is sweet cherries, apple, spices, some alcohol warmth and a bit of hops. Not bad at all. Merry Christmas. leninthedesert (112), Nevada, USA

Nose of fruit, malts, and some hops. Taste of spice, vanilla, malts, and alcohol. Hot edge takes away from the complexity of this beer.
