Pours a darker amber color with a light tan head. Aroma is of plums, spices, candied sugar, and a little bit of some alcohol. Flavor is sweet up front with the candied sugar, plums, cherry, and caramel malts. A little bit of spices on the finish with a little alcohol warming. A wonderful brew that I’ll look forward to having again next year.

0.33 l bottle at Angleterre, Helsinki. Reddish amber with small head. Nose is candy like sweetness with some cherries and marzipan. Flavor is strongly sweet with marzipan and some cherry again. A bit boozy and metallic. It’s got some Dr. Pepper in there. Quite strange overall, yet not bad.

11.2 oz bottle. nose is cherry, spice, and candy canes (those colored ones that taste fruity) . Taste was same but a bit over the top.. I wasn’t impressed. This could be biased bc it was comsumed out of a solo cup in between drinking a different strong ale.

body is amber topped with very little head. Light malty aroma and a taste of malt and cat urine (at least how cat urine smells). Jose pistolas philadelphia $9 12 oz. Tulip.

750ml. thanks jim. tawny chestnut toffee color. sweet caramel malt aroma. light yeast, clove and allspice notes. toffee and peanut brittle with faint but recognizable hops hiding in back. rich spicy taste with a full robust palate. a nice belgian brown ale. finish is clean and estery, with a touch of alcohol.

Bottled 33cl. It pours a copper beer with a small brownish head. The nose is of cherries, coriander and some vinous notes. Slightly bready aroma too. The taste is overly sweet, cloying and woody. Cherries and coriander again in the flavors. Full bodied. Slightly peppery. Grassy and buttery. Lots of bubblegum int the taste too... Quite an alcoholic punch before a warming dry bitter finish with a hint of licorice and woody elements. A bit too violent for my liking.

2007 version 330ml bottle. Pours orange . copper with a small dirty tan head. The aroma has bread, toffee, cream cheese, light spice, meringue, banana and light cotton candy. Medium body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with some caramel, Belgium yeast, mustiness, raisins, spices and richness. The finish is lightly metallic and astringent. I like this a lot better than last year’s version, but remember this as being much better in the past. On sampling some vintages I’ll hopefully be able to add to the notes and bump up the score as well.

750 ml bottle from Wholefoods. Clear rich golden amber with almost no head. Apricot aroma with hints of sourness and spice. Nice fruity tart taste with a good breadiness and some mild spice to the finish.
