oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium May 23, 2007 Tasted it from bottle as well on draft as Delirium Christmas. In belgium we find only the christmas version and not the Noël version so it should be Delirium Christmas. A very nice and strong christmas ale. A beer for the real strong ale lovers. Alcohol is in the taste and a full bodied beer CapedBrewsader (259), Brasschaat, Belgium May 23, 2007 33cl bottle, labeled "Delirium Christmas": Slightly hazy copper brown with golden edges. Big dense caramel-cream colored head sits proudly on top. It dies down to a fingers worth but then has good staying power, creating nice lace around the glass. Black cherry, raisin, and apple reach out to your nose as you come closer. Upon further inspection you notice salt water taffy, yeast, alcohol, and spice (yeast induced). There is some floral and citrus hop aroma that disapears as soon as you swirl and rouse up some more yeast driven aromas. Let it settle and the hops come back.... or am I delirious? First thing I notice as I taste it is the alcohol in the back of my throat followed by yeast and an odd and unexpected roast, all kicked into you with somewhat high CO2. That quickly turns to carmel, mince pie, other winter fruits, and yeast with a bouquet garni. It is quite a sharp flow of flavors always being beefed up with alcohol. Ends dry enough with strong yeast and alcohol. Leaves you breathing fire for quite a while. Too off balanced and alcohol forward even for a winter warmer. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA May 22, 2007 330 ml bottle. Dated March 2006. Pours a hazy copper color with full foam off white head. Aroma of yeast and spices. Taste of yeast and with a dry finish. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands May 6, 2007 Bottle. Delirium Christmas. Pours a nice clear amber-brown colour with a huge creamy long lasting off-white head leaving a very nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, alcohol, caramel and spices. Chanpagne mouthfeel. Sweet, roastish, spicy, caramel, dark fruity, alcoholic flavour. Warm up the belly for sure. Great brew! nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 1, 2007 Updated: Sep 14, 2008Notches seem to indicate March, 2006 bottling date. Pours dark copper-brown with large head that fizzes away rather quickly. Aroma is dark fruit, yeasty alcohol, occasional sour cherries and slight bubblegum. Taste is the same, with toffee and alcohol aftertaste. Alcohol is not so well-hidden in this one and is a bit fiery at times (which is why you drink this one at Xmas, not May, you dumbass!). Palate is slightly dryish, pretty smooth and highly carbonated. Typical Delirium, just higher ABV. Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2007 From the bottle, a slightly worn penny in color and slightly cloudy...pretty complex...a perfume quality to the nose..definite aroma of alcohol, smells sweet, like a cookie with candied fruits packed in it....drippy lacing forming....a heavy body with over-ripe cherries...tart-sour finish 10% abv hidden well Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Apr 18, 2007 750mL bottle dated 3/06 (don’t know if that’s a bottling date or BB). Poured a fiery translucent red with a short cap of beige head.. left some lacing as it descended. Aroma picked up clove spiciness, pineapple, apple, and vinous notes... definitely has a punch behind it! Flavor increases in complexity and power as it progresses through the mouth.. light, sweet pineapple and mild peppery spices give the first impression.. picking up almost gin-like alcohol power, apples, and white grapes over the middle... full on boozy finish with the aforementioned array of lighter fruits and spices. Heavier body to it with soft carbonation.. warm finish. Nice one! Adenila (931), Denmark Mar 17, 2007 Updated: May 19, 2007<rating #100>
Clear brown with a nice dense white head. Very nice vinouse sweet fruity aroma of plums and prunes. Intense flavor which triggers all your taste buds, soft silky mouthfull with a warm alchohol finish that tickles in your nostrils and lingers on in your throat. Can really feel the alchohol, but not taste it
