beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Jan 13, 2007 11.2 Oz Bottle-03/06-Pours a dark golden color w/ a slight head. Typical Belgan aroma-floral, fruity, spicy. Tart, sweet, spicy up front flavor, follows w/ a malt finish. Traces of dates/figs/raisons, maybe a little bit of green apples. Has some pop to it, don’t really taste the alcohol, but you feel it. jimhilt (1663), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jan 13, 2007 Pours with a two-finger creamy head that goes very slowly and leaves a good lace. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Clear amber color. Nose is prunes and alcohol. Starts sweet becomes spicy, prickly finish. Alcohol aftertaste. $8.99 for 750ml bottle from Tulley’s Beer and Wine Wells, Me. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Jan 13, 2007 750ml bottle, 2004. 2 years old. Orange/amber pour with floaties and a white creamy head. Aroma is fruity and slightly sour. First taste reveals the nutty, spicy character. The alcohol is noticeable but hardly dominant. A very nice spiced up Christmas sipper. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Jan 12, 2007 Neat beer. I really like the Tremmens, and this added the spice to it. I could not drink that much of it, but for a small amount, I really enjoyed the unique flavor. Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Jan 11, 2007 Poured a dark ruby red color with a small white head. Aroma is spicy with a sweet malt. Citrus, malt, caramel and licorice in the flavor. Medium bodied with a hot alcohol finish. Some lingering earthiness on the tongue. Not bad but not great.
pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jan 10, 2007 On tap at BW3. Light orangy copper to amber with thin dense white to beige head. Apple cider astringency, slight cinnamon malty sweetness. Full creamy mouthfeel with nice viscosity, not too carbonated, a little sticky. Flavors in line with aroma, though fuller. big sweet lght to caramel malts, apple cider tart, cinnamon, fruity finish and tart aftertaste, balanced and tasty. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 10, 2007 On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Great labal slightly above average beer. Deep amber color with one finger head. Candy, sugar, caramel. Not bad but no maudite thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jan 5, 2007 Pour is a nice red when held up to the light. Lots of floaty yeast made it into my glass. Aroma is a nice mix of candi sugar, caramel and cherry wood. Flavor is more of a cranberry with wine and vinegar aspects. Alcohol is hidden well as there is a burn not nothing to bad. Tasty but still not the best Belgian as this is just a touch too sour.
