tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 30, 2006 330ml opaque bottle. Very dense dark amber color with a lasting head. Mellow spicy/malty aromas. Big body and full mouthfeel. Intense malt and estery flavors. Big malty flavor starts slightly dry and then tilts toward the slightly sweet, with the alcohol presence building into the finish. Complex and well done. LyndaNova (492), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 30, 2006 Cold 25.4oz corked bottle: Pours a cloudy dark orange color with minimal alabaster bubbles around the edges of the glass. Perfect for those cold winter nights. Beer was poured a dark brown color and a light head. Aroma was spicy and flavor was nice and smooth although it’s pretty strong, but well hidden. Good stuff overall, looking forward to getting some more of this. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 27, 2006 Got this for xmas from my pops. He said the beer guy told him it was the single highest selling beer in the store for the holidays...i bet its cause of the xmas elephant on the front. Beer poures a beautiful burboney brown with some haze and a medium amount of froathy offwhite head. Aroma is banana, yeast, spices, pine. Flavor is delicious, very smooth, perfect balance of hop, malt and alcohol. Overall, a xmas classic. Definitely buying again next year.
