SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Dec 26, 2006 this beer is beautiful! So many delicious flavours...WOW..what a nice first sip...sweet and fruity, god, so damn delicious!! ...smooth...this is a new favourite at christmas time! Sincere (145), wichita, Kansas, USA Dec 25, 2006 750 ml corked bottle, pours a beautiful dark honey color with a creme colored, medium-sized head that fades slowly. Medium activity carbontation. The nose is one thing: banana nut bread. It’s almost uncanny how wonderfully bready and sweet this is. The taste is mixed and hard to put my thumb on. So much happens at once, it’s hard to tell if the sweet, doughy part or the earthy hop is first, because both tastes seem to overlap at the same time. The alcohol is very noticeable during the finish and for awhile on the stomach. The palate is smooth and silky, not acidic or bubbly at all. A wonderful seasonal beligian. To this date I haven’t had the regular Delirium Tremens, so I can’t compare the two but this one is a winner. bluesman42@gmailcom (43), Arkansas, USA Dec 25, 2006 I had the last bottle in a Belgian place up here. The nose had some fruit and spice in it, and the flavor was full of something in between grapefruit and sour grapes. It also had plenty of spice, with a body not unlike an oktoberfest. I couldn’t detect the alcohol in it at all, it was quite wonderful. radagast83 (1269), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Dec 24, 2006 750ml. Since it had been a while since I had had Tremens or Nocturnum I really can’t tell you if they were similar in taste, but it sure did remind me a bunch of memories of having them. Great holiday beer, very spicy, and had less of an alcoholic taste then I would have expected considering the high alcohol content. AmazonMatt (284), Panama Dec 23, 2006 Another outstanding Belgium beer. From a bottle with my boss. Aroma is spiced banana bread, as is the taste. A bot of malt, novices might say that it was too sweet, but I loved it. Citruses, low carbonation, and some cinnamon and clove spice. Great. Thanks Dad for bringing this down from Cleveland. Bartzilla (441), San Diego, California, USA Dec 22, 2006 On tap and from bottles. Easily the best holiday beer seeing that they’re not concerned with how many spices they can cram in there. If I want nutmeg, I’ll drink egg nog. if I want a solid, matly, holiday belgian ale, then I’ll drink this stuff. ebarnes (213), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Dec 22, 2006 750ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a pretty robust, tan head. Really, really spicy aroma. Taste is fruity and spicy. A nice Christmas beer. OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Dec 22, 2006 Bottle, 700 ml. Pours clear brown/amber with a lasting tan head. Nose is spicy with lots of sweetish dark malt. The flavor is sweet, mainly malt and fruit (raisins, plums, dates and citrus). Also yeast and alcohol. Medium to full body. Well balanced, slight acidic/bitter finish.
