Awesome label with the pink elephant wearing a santa hat. The aroma is full of fruits, figs, and Belgian sweetness. Tastes of plums, prunes, peaches, and some spices. The alcohol is noticable and warming. A smokiness lingers. A great winter warmer. MacDaddyOJake (274), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 20, 2006 Featured at "steal the glass" night at Capital ale house in Innsbrooke. Nice reddish brown body with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and apple juice, somewhat like wine. Slightly sweet, faint detection of alcohol. Warms as it goes down, all you need is one sip to be sure that this one will get the job done. A pleasant surprise to say the least. I would definitely get this one again next winter. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA Dec 19, 2006 Reddish brown fairly translucent body with ruby-red highlights and about an inch of off-white head. Smells like citrus and grape with just a hint of banana. Tastes like citrus, apple, and grape, with hints of what tastes like banana. Fairly crisp and dry on the finish with a little alcohol flavor and warming. On the lighter side of medium-bodied. Pleasant, but not sure something I’d get again. There are beers that are cheeper and just as good. adwoan99 (244), Ft. Worth, Texas, USA Dec 18, 2006 Pours a dark, murky brown with lots of sediment. Very light head. Aroma is very bready Thought it was a "christmas" ale ("noel") but not as spicy as I’d expected. Other than that, pretty good example of a belgium ale. Malty, yeasty, high abv is slightly noticeable. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Dec 17, 2006 Pours a nice ruby color with thick head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is belgian yeast, fruit with a bit of spice. The taste is very light and fruity and very enjoyable. The alcohol is very well masked. This is a very good BSA and I would definitely buy this again. undsioux7 (553), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Dec 16, 2006 Updated: Nov 29, 2007 Bottle. Pours deep copper/brown with a dark tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, bread and cherries. Taste is sweet dark fruits, yeast and alchohol SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Dec 16, 2006 #964, Bottle, sampled at the Champaign Urbana Beer Club meeting in December of 2006.
