asheft (1374), Marburg, Germany Nov 26, 2006 [big bottle]
Sour aroma; lemon mixed with noble hops that predicts a dry drink. Pours a clear dark amber, effervescent wit a lasting white foam. Sweet and sour beer: smooth, sweet, nutty, toasty grainbill with lemony noble hops. The sourness is in harmony with the sweetness and gentle bittering. Full body, high carbonation, warming. Theis (3617), Denmark Nov 26, 2006 Bottle at ØLbaren - shared with Bager. Clear deep red - white head. Fruity, licorice, high sweetness, spicy, too high carbonation - kills some flavors. Not complex enough. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland Nov 25, 2006 Bottled. Clear dark red/brown in colour. Bubbly and creamy beige head. Lacings. The aroma is yeasty and fruity. The flavour then... The flavour is fruity, some malt a sweetness and alcohol as well. Very enjoyable. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Nov 23, 2006 750 ml bottle. Dark amber colour, mostly lasting tan head. Very much dominated by a "Unibroue-like" yeast character - very fruity, yeasty, and lightly spicy aroma and flavour. Medium bodied. Good, but straightforward. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 22, 2006 Bottle sampled with Beerded one. Pours amber with a nice size fluffy off-white head. Aroma of belgian spices and yeast, fruit, citrus, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet, spices, fruit, slight bitterness in the finish. Great brew. aenimopiate (142), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA Nov 22, 2006 Updated: Jul 17, 2008This is a wonderful winter brew from the Delirium family of beers. It seems to be fruitier than the nocturnum and tremens types, with a slightly sweeter taste to go along with it. The aroma is a wonderful prelude to the rest of the experience. I recommend this beer to those on the fence about trying it. mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA Nov 20, 2006 Bottle. Pours a dark red mohagany with a very small head that disappates quickly into a small ring. Aromas of cherry, cinnamon, yeast, alcohol, dried oranges, possibly some clove in there. Thickish mouthfeel with a good amount of effervescence. Sugar comes out at the first taste then quickly goes to a sour lemon and finishes with a really nice strawberry and orange. A very fruity beer! BrockLanders (747), Panama City, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2006 Nice ruby colored pour....minimal tan head. Big sweet dark fruit aroma...with a notable yeasty alcohol edge. Flavor is just as sweet, orangey alcohol flavor and quite tasty. One of the better Christmas brews I’ve had...warming and balanced.
