crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Jan 10, 2006 Updated: Jul 26, 2007Draught: Dark Mahogany, some floaters, thin head that faded quickly. Pretty sweet and a nice alcohol kick that tasted very good. Dark fruits, candi sugar, lots of sweetness. Belgian yeast spiciness with sugar sweetness. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 10, 2006 Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy reddsih brown with a firm tan head. Black cherries, fudge, dates, figs, vanilla, white pepper and alcohol in the aroma. Figs, sweet cherries and toffee in the firm flavour, hints of pepper and apple-skins. Red fruit, pepper and alcohol in the aftertaste. Finally, a beer from Huyghe that I can enjoy. AndrewM (126), Waco (Buckle of the Bible Belt), Texas, USA Jan 9, 2006 2004 Vintage, 750mL bottle. Pours amber with a head that fades quickly. Aroma of yeast and sweet fruits like bannana, apples, and bubblegum. Flavor is a bit sour. While there were bubbles in the glass, palate feels flat and a bit watery. The price of $10 also hurts the overall score. First impression: 7/3/5/3/9=2.7<P>Looking below at other raters, xproudfoot suggests letting it ’warm up’. OK, after 1/2 glass with the above rating, I did that. Let it sit for a while. Aroma now has a cherry aspect. Palate a bit more lively, flavor still a bit sour with a bitter finish. Was really hoping for more out of this one. Bumping overall to a 12, but still won’t be drinking this ’un again. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jan 5, 2006 On tap. Dark amber colour. A little off-white head. Lots of yeast in the aroma with some maltiness and hints of spicies. Sweet malty flavor with lots of yeast and caramel. Hard to feel the alcohol. joshuah (37), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Jan 3, 2006 Merry Xmas present courtesy of SuIIy. Delicious brew. Fruity bready nose, very appealing, very very good, with no hint of the high alchohol. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 3, 2006 Cloudy dark orange/amber body with yeast floaties and medium tan lacing head. Aroma of bread, sweet fruit, maybe some cherry?, caramel and brown sugar. Sweet, caramel, brown sugar, yeast flavor. Creay, smooth clingy palate. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA Jan 3, 2006 (2004 Version) This beer offers an aroma consisting of wheat, yeast, and a tangerine citrus smell. This beer sits in the glass as a copper solution with a thick butterscotch colored head. This beer greets the palate in a moderately thick manner producing the taste of yeast, wheat, and mild nuts. It fades smoothly leaving a mild nutty aftertaste lingering. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jan 2, 2006 750 ml bottle. a lot of nice smell.
Golden brown colour. Spicy but round aftertaste. Good to taste to christmas food
