Hazy redbrown. Fruity nose with notes of marzipan and solvent, also a clear alcohol appearance. Fruity, chocolatey flavour, quite malty but rounded. blankboy (3260), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Nice aroma of sweet malt, sugar, yeast, Christmas spices, caramel and alcohol. Flavour pretty much follows the aroma but with more alcohol and a slightly metallic aftertaste that I really don’t like. Dissapointing. BeerandBlues2 (3231), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Pours a hazy brownish amber with a small off white nicely lacing head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast, dark fruits, citrus, apples, cherries and caramel. Flavor of sweet apples, caramel and a few of the other things I was picking up in the aroma. A nice Belgian Strong Ale for sure. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

Aroma of spice an pepper to go along with raisens. Taste is stiff pretty fresh with apricot, mango, pear, green apple and caramel. Starting to lose some of its luster and the alcohol is maked pretty nicely. Body is medium to full with a stickiness. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 7, 2003 Wow what a good beer!!This would be a great beer on a cold winters night to warm the cockels of your heart!!Not to mention a cool looking bottle! This beer poured a medium sized ivory head with fine-small sized bubbles that very quickly dissipated. The first glass poured a very dense, carbonated body and the second glass poured a clear body. The hue was light brown and the nose was definitely alcohol and fruit...apples?The initial taste was that of alcohol and some apples and spices. It had a smooth and tingly mouthfeel along with a burning sensation as it was swallowed.Aw yes, a Belgian Strong Ale...one of my favorite beer styles and a high ABV to go along with it!
