Just a beautiful beer in the Tulip- walls of lace and contrasting colors. Aroma is fruity- D’Anjou pears and bing cherries. The malty sweetness is clear in the taste, but there’s enough tart bitterness to allow it. Slightly medicinal, but whoo boy, the big flavor here is a super strong cherry taste. The finish is at first a little bit smokey, but you can’t really tell after a couple of swallows. The residual alcohol burn lingers in the alimentary canal long after all other senses have subsided. Quite sweet, with more yeast, some fruit, and salt. Fairly simple, but very good flavor and aroma. Nice, well carbonated palate as well. ante (2942), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2004 Amber-caramel color. Aroma and flavor of caramel, spices and alcohol. Light to medium body, slightly liquorous texture, medium carbonation. Not bad but I expect more than that in a Chrismas beer. skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands
