[1704-20080912] 11.2floz bottle. Perfumy malt and heavy grains aroma. Murky, dark orange body with a quick foamy light tan head and seriously big white floaties. Heavy yeast and sweet perfume malt flavour. Medium-full body. Nice, boozy, well-blended.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Mabel and Jerc. Dark orange, small white head. Sweet candy sugar aroma. Good sweet boozy taste - lots and lots of alcohol. Good straightforward strong Belgian.

Bottle pours deep caramel, slightly burnt, large sand colored foamy head, attractive lacing, with light carbonation.   Sweet candyish nose, caramel, with light dark pitted fruit notes.   Smells wonderful!   Subtle hints of alcohol as well.   Strong malty dark pitted fruit flavor immediately up front, followed by a slight alcoholic burn.   Mildly sweet, with minor hop bitterness at the finish.   Lingering hints of alcohol.   Nice body, enjoyable mouthfeel.   Decent Winter offering, but could stand to less heated.

Appearance: Pours a clear, reddish-brown body with a thinnish, wispy, off-white head. Smell: A chiefly fruity nose, smelling of brandy-soaked dried fruits supported by secondary notes of light brown sugar, caramel, and dull, earthy spices. Taste: Dark maltiness with flavors of nutty caramel and cocoa. Brief burst of sweetness from a handful of candi sugar. Concentrated fruitiness tasting of stewed plums garnished with golden raisins. Splash of brandy. Hint of gingerbread cookies. Touch of warming alcohol in the dry finish. Very slight lingering of spices in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium, though somewhat lively carbonation. Drinkability: By no means my favorite, but it’s still a fitting, well-balanced choice for your holiday drinking. I’ll give it that much. It is, after all, the holiday season!

2006 vintage 33cl bottle. Pours to a vibrant reddish amber body that’s full of medium particulate. Likely broken up chunks of settled yeast. A thin creamy white head sits on top. The aroma is very strong with yeasts, yellow apples, light cinnamon. The flavor is a nice yeasty apple bomb with cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is sweet, smooth, nicely carbonated, and warming.

Dark red-amber color and big fluffy head. Sweet malty nose and taste with spicey undertones and peppery dry finish. Thinish but a good balance.
