| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Bottle. Pours a cloudy deep orange-red with a few black floaties and a thin, but retentive, whitish head. The aroma is orange zest, clove, some malt, and other spices. There is a caramel sweet maltiness up front, with a quick hit of the alcohol close behind. There are a lot of autumnal spices detectable, and the finish is largely clove and maybe cinnamon. This is definitely good for drinking in the cold around a fire. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

Fruity esters and yeast in the nose, with some spiciness (cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander). The aroma is rather pungent, almost perfumelike. Slightly over carbonated for my taste. Flavor follows the strong nose, albeit weakly. Slight alcohol burn and a dry finish. ucusty (1892), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
