Sweet/spicy candilike nose. Sweetens as it warms - candy comes out in the nose w. some rich maltiness. Spicing is better balanced as it warms. tjthresh (1774), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Poured a firey copper with a stone colored head. Lots of Brussels lace. Aromas of peach, mint, berries, Juicey Fruit, and some yeast. I caught flaovrs of smoke(?) cherry, some citrus, sugars and tartness. Really nice on the palate. Nice drink. Palidor19 (1773), Brandon, Florida, USA

The ultimate X-mas beer, A velvetly smooth taste of spices with taste of colilander, caramel wrapped up with a smooth texture like cola syrup.
Truly to be enjoyed for the holidays. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 2, 2004 Pours with a great creamy head with good retention. Taste is so full and malty, the mouthfeel ends up being more important than the actual taste. Slightly sweet with some esters (plum?), with a roasty bitterness in the finish. Great beer. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 1, 2006 750ml bottle. 2005 edition. Ruby brown hue. Slightly muddled. Minimal white head. Cinnamon bready nose. Caramel sugary nose. Sweet, malty caramel flavor. Full bodied with an alcohol middle with a tight burn. Then, the bitter hop citrus finish. As it warms, the fruit bread, holiday spice malt character really shines. Second glass is fuller and thicker. Same hue, but with thick swirling sediment. Little more of a citrus sour flavor on the hop finish. It really compliments the cinnamon malt sweetness. More cookie yeast notes. Still a great burn. Solid brew with great aging potential. Yet another belgian that i enjoyed at obrien's, courtesy of dasilky1. An average brown color, descent arrangement of flavors accented with a breeze of yeast. just another belgian as far as im concerned.
