Dec 23, 2007 Christmas! A great time for winter beers. Pours brown with a tan head. Nose of fruit, malts, and some hops. Taste of spice, vanilla, malts, and alcohol. Hot edge takes away from the complexity of this beer.

Dec 27, 2006 Got this for xmas from my pops. He said the beer guy told him it was the single highest selling beer in the store for the holidays...i bet its cause of the xmas elephant on the front. Beer poures a beautiful burboney brown with some haze and a medium amount of froathy offwhite head. Aroma is banana, yeast, spices, pine. Flavor is delicious, very smooth, perfect balance of hop, malt and alcohol. Overall, a xmas classic. Definitely buying again next year.

Dec 3, 2007 Pours a darker amber color with a light tan head. Aroma is of plums, spices, candied sugar, and a little bit of some alcohol. Flavor is sweet up front with the candied sugar, plums, cherry, and caramel malts. A little bit of spices on the finish with a little alcohol warming. A wonderful brew that I’ll look forward to having again next year.

Nov 29, 2003 Draft at Monks Cafe in Philly. This was a little spicer than the Tremens. Besides that wasn't much going on besides tasting what it should be.

Jan 4, 2009 <i>11.2oz bottle:</i> Rustic copper pour with a bubbly head that fades. Both the aroma and body come to life as the beer really hits room temp. Biscuity with layers of caramel and toffee beneath. Some nice esthers play off the sweetness, mostly apple and pear. Surprisingly thin on first pour, the malts really start to jive at room temp. The yeast seems a little too subdued for the malt onslaught.

Oct 15, 2007 Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a short off-white head. Dense aroma of malt, cherries, corriander, and dried fruit. Pleasant, velvet mouthfeel. Smooth flavors of candi sugar, malt, nutmeg/cinnamon spice, and alcohol. Definietly a winter warmer.

Jan 11, 2008 Flaske. Udemærket Belgisk ale, mørk ravfarvet med et lille skum hoved, sød og en anelse krydret. Alkoholen er mærkbar men ikke særlig varm. Udemærket øl og så er det vidst sagt.
