2004 / trappist glass / cherry fruitiness with alcohol, mild sweet and sugary characteristic, light sweet maltiness, small bitter aftertaste, and dry dusty aftertaste--actually, it’s quite good. as Metalhead mentions, this makes a good cross-over beer for those into MGD... it’s a beer that has been talked about in my hometown, and the artwork helps!

Pours a murky brown with large off white head. Nose is spices, candy sugar, sweet malts. Flavor is crisp malt sweetness, aromatic spices, belgian yeast flavors or clove etc., yeast and bread.

On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. More amber than dark. Tan dense head leaves a ton of lacing. Aromas of orange peel, phenols, and a nice toffee base. Mushy apricot, candi sugar, big orange peel, and earthy and spicy notes make up the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is a little flat but that could just be the tap. Pretty nice beer.

Christmas in August Really enjoyed this, even though its probably been sitting on the shelf for over a year. (aging as they say). The 10% abv kick would be clutch in the winter but is also good for sitting on the couch in August watching Samurai Jack DVDs

Besides the silly label this is a solid winter beer. A good balance of spice and sugar. Will satisfy you on a cold night.

Bottle shared by robert at stateline. Light red/ruby color, ok head. Aroma was some spices, fruity, apple and some malt. Wow...really impressed by the flavor. Super smooth. Lots of fruity spices, cinnamon, gingerbread, dark fruits, sweet candy sugar but all well balanced together. I will have to pick up a couple bottles for myself. Thanks Robert!. Finally picked up a bottle for my self, I pretty much think the same thing.....good beer

0.33 l bottle at Angleterre, Helsinki. Reddish amber with small head. Nose is candy like sweetness with some cherries and marzipan. Flavor is strongly sweet with marzipan and some cherry again. A bit boozy and metallic. It’s got some Dr. Pepper in there. Quite strange overall, yet not bad.

A dark ruby body with a light head. Deep fruit scents and flavor. Good citrus ending.
