Seems very drinkable for a 10 ABV.
A bit too heavy on the spice side for me, but good nonetheless. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2004 Large head and hazy almost brown colour. Lots of carbonation on the tounge. Had a pleasing taste, typical of the style. On the sweet side with a tad bit of alcohol in the finish. changeup45 (791), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2008 I really didn’t taste a lot of the flavors I normally associate with xmas such as ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, rather I got a little bit of spice, pears, sour apples, plums, yeast and some candi or brown sugars. Very drinkable though, 10% is hidden. The appearance is nice, amber-brown color, nice fluffy off-white head that sticks around. I admit I expected a little better but this is still passable as a good beer. On to the next xmas beer! beachbum25 (786), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Typical Belgan aroma-floral, fruity, spicy. Tart, sweet, spicy up front flavor, follows w/ a malt finish. Traces of dates/figs/raisons, maybe a little bit of green apples. Has some pop to it, don’t really taste the alcohol, but you feel it. joshwilfong (785), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2005 Updated: Dec 12, 2005750 mL brown corked bottle purchased from Whole Foods, Deerfield, IL. ABV 10%. Hazy dark orange amber ale having an average-sized diminishing creamy off-white head with fair lacing. Aroma bouquet of toffee, fruity esters (prune?) and alcohol. Soft carbonation. Full bodied that starts with sharpness and mouth exploding flavors of slight sweet malt, fruit, and toffee. Finishes dry with lingering bitterness. A very delicious Belgium ale.
12/12/05 update insert. On tap at Firkin’s, Libertyville, IL. Clear amber hued ale having a long-lasting large white head with good lacing. Nice aromas of fruity esters, banana, and spice. Medium bodied that starts with slight sweet malt, dried fruits, toffee, and spice flavors. Finishes dry with malt aftertaste. Notable alcoholic warmth. An excellent spicy Belgium ale for the winter holidays. Enjoyed on my birthday. Rating stays the same but I thought that the tap version was more aromatic and flavorful than bottled version.
