Jul 29, 2008 Fantastic brew! deep reddish hue with a medium but thick off white head. aroma is nice wintery mix of malt, caramel, spices and dark fruits. flavor is same with a great balance.

Dec 25, 2006 I had the last bottle in a Belgian place up here. The nose had some fruit and spice in it, and the flavor was full of something in between grapefruit and sour grapes. It also had plenty of spice, with a body not unlike an oktoberfest. I couldn’t detect the alcohol in it at all, it was quite wonderful.

Oct 1, 2009 2005 corked and caged. Semi hazy, particulate suspended burnt orange. Nose is fantastic deep fruity, with no traces of alcohol. Flavors of light smoke, anise, oak, vanilla, and a plethera of other flavors. Truly a great brew.

Dec 17, 2008 Initital metallic taste followed by a high-quality spicy ale like only the Belgians can do. Nice alcohol burn for those who dig it. This stuff is on par with Bernardus 8.

Feb 2, 2009 Had a fruity aroma with a hint of malt. Poured nice, cleansed the palate and went very well with a slice of Applewood Smoked Gruyere cheese. Great beer to enjoy on a cold winter night.

Jan 22, 2006 2005, corked bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a nice tan head. It has alcohol, caramel, and spices in the aroma. Tastes sweet with a hint of orange with a slight alcohol aftertaste.

Dec 22, 2007 Great aroma and a nice pour with a small head. A nice milky appearance. The flavor is malty with a nice smooth finish. A very enjoyable Belgian seasonal!
