| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2005 Every aspect of this holiday Belgian Winter Ale is admirable. Attratcive rusty-amber color under a durable tan head. Luscious aromas of caramel, spices and dark dried fruits. Silky smooth mouthfeel. A clean, but satisfying palate of sweet cinnamon rolls, apricot, fig and caramel malts. That being said, there is also a certain washed-out whimpiness to this 10% ale that just doesn’t seem to hit you between the eyes like other Belgians of its genre. Maybe just a bit too delicate?
