Attratcive rusty-amber color under a durable tan head. Luscious aromas of caramel, spices and dark dried fruits. Silky smooth mouthfeel. A clean, but satisfying palate of sweet cinnamon rolls, apricot, fig and caramel malts. That being said, there is also a certain washed-out whimpiness to this 10% ale that just doesn’t seem to hit you between the eyes like other Belgians of its genre. Maybe just a bit too delicate? colour of an orange soda, somewhat hazy.a very strong drink at 10%abv which is masked by the sweet and spicy tastes. nice spice flavours here to distinguish it from the tremens, also hasa zesty citrusy flavour from the yeast.
good stuff - would be worth buying an extra bottle to lay down.

Strong slightly sweet, slightly tart vinous aroma. Some fig notes as well. Strong woody chocolate malty flavors right up front. Then goes into this sour quality almost like a flemish. Start and finish on this are like two different beers. Finish also show a bit of spice and some alcohol. Good stuff. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA

It has a seducing aroma of banana. The flavour is quite sweet and the aftertaste is long. Well-balanced. Jedsbrew (465), Rhineland, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2006 Poured a red copper color with a long creamy head and light lacing. Fruity aroma, apple citrusy with a touch of mustiness. Quite malty and on the sweet side, fruity with a light spiciness-cinnamon, clove-flavors blend well together, soft mouthfeel. Dryish finish with just a touch of booziness. Tasty rounded flavor with an underlying warmth-I liked this one and will try it again. 2002.
