Dark brown and red color, big lasting beige head. Strongly spicy aroma, mild caramel and sweetness, also some alcohol in aroma. Medium to full bodied. Caramel, spices, medium alcohol in flavor, spices last in aftertaste with some alcohol and dryness, but not for very long. Nice lace in glass. Fine christmas brew.

The aroma is full of spice and candy. Flavor is big and powerful, mostly sweet but not sticky. The yeast comes through as well. Alcohol is noticeably warming, but not unpleasant. Body is fizzy and soda-like.

750 ml 2005 bottle brought to a tasting by frizzzzle and shared with csbosox and Indra. Poured a firey copper with a stone colored head. Lots of Brussels lace. Aromas of peach, mint, berries, Juicey Fruit, and some yeast. I caught flaovrs of smoke(?) cherry, some citrus, sugars and tartness. Really nice on the palate. Nice drink.

The .75L bottle poured a beautiful deep amber beverage with, at first, an ample frothy off-white head. The head slowly settled and turned to a small creamy head that fully lasting and left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was characteristically sweet keeping with the style. There were greater notes of bubble gum and rock candy with more subtle aromas of orange and pepper mixed in. The body was medium-full with soft carbonation and a creamy smooth texture. The flavor starts out sweet and stays that way through the long finish. There is also a nice afterglow warmth at the finish that, although it’s now June, reminded me of December.

330ml opaque bottle. Very dense dark amber color with a lasting head. Mellow spicy/malty aromas. Big body and full mouthfeel. Intense malt and estery flavors. Big malty flavor starts slightly dry and then tilts toward the slightly sweet, with the alcohol presence building into the finish. Complex and well done.

750mL bottle, no date--though I did purchase it late 2005 or early 2006. Pours a lightly hazy orange with reddish highlights and a two finger light yellowish head. Aroma is very fruity with peaches, figs, powdered sugar, toasty caramel malts, spicy estery yeast, light leather. Taste is bigger leather and a little char/peated malt--kinda strange, but not bad. Still quite fruity, alcohol is noticeable and warming, though not really distracting. As it warms I also got a little nose of freshly baked sugar cookies, didn’t really get it in taste. Full bodied, highly carbonated. This is definitely better than Nocturnum, but can’t remember if I like it more than Tremens.

Pours red copper with a frothy off-white head and nice lacing on the glass. Alcohol is evident in the aroma and has hints of apples and spices. Flavor is sweet with creamy sour finish. A nice Christmas brew!
