Oct 10, 2006 750mL bottle, no date--though I did purchase it late 2005 or early 2006. Pours a lightly hazy orange with reddish highlights and a two finger light yellowish head. Aroma is very fruity with peaches, figs, powdered sugar, toasty caramel malts, spicy estery yeast, light leather. Taste is bigger leather and a little char/peated malt--kinda strange, but not bad. Still quite fruity, alcohol is noticeable and warming, though not really distracting. As it warms I also got a little nose of freshly baked sugar cookies, didn’t really get it in taste. Full bodied, highly carbonated. This is definitely better than Nocturnum, but can’t remember if I like it more than Tremens.

Dec 25, 2005 Pours red copper with a frothy off-white head and nice lacing on the glass. Alcohol is evident in the aroma and has hints of apples and spices. Flavor is sweet with creamy sour finish. A nice Christmas brew!

Dec 11, 2006 2005 edition, 750ml bottle, poured medium red, lots of bubbles, sweet, faint caramel apple, fruity fragrance, candy apple, faint scents of spiced cider, cinnamon, cloves, taste of pepper, light malt, alcohol in the nose, apple, faint brandy, this was nice, beer was a little watery.

Jan 12, 2009 Color is a golden orange with sediment floating around. Carbonation is low producing a very thin head. Aroma of toasted caramel with back tones of fruit. Taste is sweet and fruity. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth with just a faint crispness. Finish comes in sweet with dried fruit a hint of banana and a touch of citrus. In the after taste a nice yeast flavor comes in followed by a bit of alcohol. Overall its a nice Winter brew with good Belgian yeast fruit flavors.

Dec 2, 2006 It’s that time of year. Aroma of green apple and other fruits. Hazy tan/brown color with a decent light tan head. Flavor of fruits and spices - very festive. Palate was a little fizzy. Overall a good, atypical seasonal.

Feb 24, 2008 Pours a reddish copper color with a small tope colored head. Nose is spicy with some winter spices, sugar, and caramel. Tastes is very sweet and malty, with notes of dark fruit and apples. Nothing special but it is pretty good.

Dec 18, 2008 On tap at Trappeze. Poured amber brown with a slight head. Aroma of spice, malt, fruit, sugar. Spices included clove and cinnamon. Taste was well balanced between sugar sweetness, spice, fruit, caramel malt. Body is nice and full with plenty of carbonation. Very easy drinking. Overall, a very enjoyable brew.

Nov 18, 2007 The sweet aroma of the Christmas ale let me know that the ale was going to be different from the Belgians of my past. The sweet sugary taste of left me wondering what it was. Very smooth and drinkable after a few minutes of air with the distinct tastes of raisins made the finish easy .
