Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle. Poured with a huge, frothy white head that was mostly diminishing to about 1/2-finger size. Body was cloudy and dark yellow, with lots of particles (some quite large) floating around. High carbonation. Great aroma... heavy yeast, with some citrus in there as well. Medium body on the palate, slightly creamy, and very fizzy. Flavor is initially sweet and slightly acidic, and finishes with a long-lasting alcohol taste that causes some warmth in the back of the throat. A very solid Belgian strong pale ale... not my favorite, but still damned impressive.

Poured a clear honey gold with a white head. Aroma consisted of apple, pear and flora notes. The flavor was sweet with pear notes. Good, but not the "Best Beer in the World."

Poured a hazy deep gold with a big white head. Sediment is floating throughout the glass and lacing is descent. Smells really sweet and sour. Got some raspberry not only in the smell but in the taste. Gives a cream citrus feel in the mouth with a bitterness when swallowed. Very enjoyable brew. Top notch.

Pretty good overall. I didn’t like it as much as the delerium Nocturne but it was still pretty good. Pours a gold color with light head and has a fruity aroma and flavor. I drank it out of a snifter since they didn’t have a trappist glass

On tap at "The Dead Poet" (NYC): Tastes of better hops immediately, but then what follows is a lemon-citrus flavor that kicks in like clockwork. Coupled with this lemon 1-2 punch, the top palate gets an intense sour euphoria. Relatively smooth finish. #033 on 27062009, DG.
