Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Fruity pale malt nose with ok citrus hops and Belgian yeast. Sprizy, with citrus an lemon flavors, ok hops, clean malt. Ok but not very good. Rather uninspired and mediocre for a Belgian strong.

Bottle brown, 330 ml, I got it from Chmurarz.
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy in texture, bright and oily golden body, very hazy and blured but still but clear and noble, carbonation of the body is weak to moderate, head is initially huge, creamy white, frothy, slowly decreasing to medium, giving the traces of lacing, firm and long lasting, like honey with water, looks like unfiltered beer.
Aroma: Quite strong, nice, well balanced and pleasant aroma of wheat, yeast and barley grains, cloves, some herbal and aromatic notes of hops reminding me of some good local German Hefe Weizens, lemon and lime is also present, very refreshing, positive and inviting, even tantalizing.
Flavour: Very strong and robust flavour reminding me of some Barley Wines, alcohol is strong and dry, stressed and pronounced up front, not much sweetness, nice level of hops resulting in the additional dryness, juicyness, very malty also wheat and a lot of intriguing spices especially clover and a hint of coriander, finish duration is medium with very aromatic, spicy and hoppy - flowery plus alcoholic nose, very nice, intense and focussed bitterness.
Palate: Body is medium, very nice beer all in all, it lived up to my expectations and easily defended its name.

Bottle. Pours an agreeable gold color, but with loads of sediment. I’m used to sediment in beer but this is a bit ridiculous. Head is snowy white, and fluffy, but diminishes quickly with spotty lacing. Nose is spicy apples, with yeast, limes, and a firm but very understated hoppy background. Palate is very yeasty and moderately sweet with more light fruit and green apple rind. Finish is spicy, with the hops coming through. I prefer this on tap, as it has more of a bubblegum character, and doesn’t look like a snowglobe.

On tap. Rich gold color, sheets of lace in a pure white head. Powerful sweet, malty aroma with undertones of fruit, honey, and the sea. Sweet taste, simple and direct with a great finish, bit of alcohol. Easy to knock back a few pints of this, but I don’t recommend it; it packs a real punch.

Blonde, hazy beer with a head thats stays a while. Lightly sparkling. Strong smell of grain, even a light odour of vomit. Because of that the taste isn’t perfect, but still tasty.

Sweet aroma. Golden Brown Color with healthy head (courtesy of my poor pouring) Mild citrus flavor. Very smooth going down. A delightful beer, perfect for summer evenings (or any other time)

Very nice bottle with elephants, nice white head disapearing fastly, golden and clear colour. Nice bubbles on the tongue. Smells a bit like soles from newly bought shoes and alcohol. But than the taste: orange peels, alcohol, grainy, a bit sharp grassy, fruity, sweet, grapefruit. Very good beer but a bit too sweet for me.
