Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
Launched on December 26th 1989 @ 9% abv. Abv reduced from 9% to 8.5% in 2003.
The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Pours a slightly hazy gold color - plenty of floaties. Aroma is sweet - like something from the dentists office. Taste is sugary and minty - almost like mouth wash. Also some bannana and vannila. Slightly spicy finish. Decent beer, definately drinkable, but not really my thing overall.

Golden, huge white head. Looks funky, some bits floating around the glass. Sweetish malty aroma. Fresh flavor, oddly sour finish; sweet and sour, even. Fruity, some wheatlike banana in flavor. Feels fizzy.

Draft at European St. Cafe in Jacksonville, Florida. Pale golden with a moderate foamy white head. Sweet, somewhat fruity and sugary. Leaves a mildly cloying bittersweet aftertaste. Alcohol is not really evident.

Bright yellow with a modest head and good lacing. Classic peppery, honey, fruity aromas for the style. Sweet malt flavors with a slight hops balancing bitterness. Warming alcohol presence and a nice spicy lingering aftertaste.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a very hazy golden orange with a decent white head. Smells of sweet light fruit syrup, vitamins, and sugar. Tastes of light fruits, like pears, apples, banana, and pineapple. Maybe a little plum in there as well. A little clove spice. Slightly mineraly. Tart and tangy, just as well as sweet. Almost no alcohol presence in the flavor. Very nice belgian.

Bottle. Pours lightly golden, a bit cloudy probably because I’ve kept it in the fridge for too long. Sort of metallic and citrus in the nose. Taste is somewhat fruity, spicy and mildly alcoholic. In the aftertaste there’s some yeast and hop bitter. Overall a very nice beer.

11.2 oz ceramic bottle. There’s a good amount unique qualities to this beer which i like, but really a fairly standard belgian ale overall. A noticeable sourness strikes me initially on the aroma as this quality continues in the actually taste, with other aroma notes of green apples, lemon cake, some banana and ginger spice, and some mellow grassy hops. Bountiful creamy pillowy white head on the pour, chunky lacing, an opaque body, and golden straw yellow on the color. The sour aspect of this beer gives a mild tang through out, with also some minor carbonation, but fairly smooth and nice in general. Decently mellow and spicy flavors come off initially in almost a farmhouse like fashion. Fruits, bread, and other heavier notes come into play shortly thereafter. These include apples, light lemon and other mild citrus, a decent amount of Belgian grain bread, and then a finish of spicy yet earth straw grass bitter. I enjoyed this beer, it had a decent amount of good things going for it.
