| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2009 Poured it from a bottle into a De Koninck goblet (damned if I don’t need to run out and get myselft a tulip glass), and the first thing I noticed was a fantastic fruit and red wine aroma, as bold as an Argentinian woman in heels. Such a woman wouldn’t wince at the sight of the unusually large pieces of yeast that swirl around the glass like tango dancers, but unfiltered beer virgins will probably run screaming. Once the head (which was nowhere near the size of the one pictured) had all but disappeared, the resultant yeast soup was among the ugliest I had ever seen, but ugly like a bulldog, in that I can imagine people talking themselves into seeing the underlying beauty. I respect that. The sight of this beer challenges the drinker, thwarting that still-rooted adolescent notion that beer is supposed to look like clear amber. Then there’s that disconnect between what you see and what you smell. I’m reminded of the first time I had lobster, that hideous, delicious bottom-feeding demon of the sea. So seldom are my senses so vehemently at war with one another. Then came the taste, which was delightful at first, with plenty of apple and citrus, but then became sickly sweet. The chunks of yeast, so unappealing to the eye, playfully tickled the roof of my mouth. I don’t think I like this beer, and yet I long for another. AGAquino (105), San Juan, Puerto Rico

Moderate to high carbonation with particles floating in beer. Medium to large white head. Aroma of wheat and alcohol. Tastes of wheat, with light sour taste and light taste of alcohol. Finish is smooth with light alcohol aftertaste.
Good belgian ale, but not as good as I expected when I saw the claim on the beer’s sign that stated this beer was "elected best beer in the world." Petrucci914 (601), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Cloudy pour with chunks, I kid you not, CHUNKS of live yeast floating. I was hoping the taste would negate my disgust but alas, I was mistaken.
